A lot of people thought I was crazy when I posted this picture to Facebook yesterday! I got the idea from a fellow military spouse stationed up here in Alaska! She made snow ice cream with her girls and shared the recipe! So, we gave it a whirl!
Hubby was kinda grossed out at first! But then, once he tasted it... He liked it just as much as the kids! They devoured it!
I went outside and grabbed 8 cups of snow ( next time I need to get more! ). I stuck it in the freezer until I was ready for it. In another bowl I mixed 1 cup of 1% milk ( all the other recipes I found called for cream, but I didn't have any! And the person I got the recipe from used milk as well! And it turned out well for her too! I think using the cream would make the ice cream a bit.. thicker/less watery... But either way.. It works (; ) with the milk I mixed in 1/4 cup sugar, 1 tsp almond extract ( called for vanilla, but I only had almond and it was aaaaamazing : D ) and partially thawed blueberries. After its all mixed up get out the snow from the freezer and mix it all together!!!!
It was gone within minutes!!!
